“Melanie graduated with her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Alberta in 2016. She also holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Criminology minor), a Certificate in Liberal Arts, and a Post-Baccalaureate diploma in Linguistics, all from Simon Fraser University.
Her practicum allowed her to work in a variety of settings and with different populations. She provided speech and language services to preschool-aged children in the Homesteader Early Education Program and to school-aged children with Alberta Health Services. In her final placement, she worked with adult inpatients and outpatients at Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, providing them with feeding, swallowing, speech, and language services.
Having lived in Port Coquitlam all her life prior to moving to Edmonton for graduate school, Melanie was ecstatic to return to BC and begin work as an SLP at MLA! In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her dog, reading, going for walks/runs, exploring nature, and cooking.”
